Lingua Franca is a partnership of Master Sommelier Larry Stone, a native of the Pacific Northwest; Dominique Lafon, an iconic producer of Burgundy; and David Honig, a successful attorney. Thomas Savre is the winemaker, the head of his class in Dijon, who has extensive experience in Burgundy, including a stage at DRC and Domaine Dujac, before joining Dominique Lafon in Oregon.
They soon hired Thomas Savre, a brilliant young winemaker with work experience at some of the best domaines in Burgundy and an inquisitive mind. Lingua Franca winery broke ground on October 11th, 2015 shortly after harvest. Lingua Franca was on its way. The schedule was tight because the winery had to be occupied by harvest of 2016.
The first vintage of Lingua Franca Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, 2015, was produced at Coehlo Winery using purchased grapes, with estate-grown bottlings from its 66-acre vineyard in Eola-Amity Hills following in 2016.
